C2B2 Strengthens Academic Partnership with the Republic of Indonesia Defense University through ICOPMAP 2026

The Center for Chemical Biology and Biotechnology (C2B2) proudly shares the participation of its Director, Prof. Doralyn S. Dalisay, as a plenary speaker at the 6th International Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences and Military Pharmacy (ICOPMAP), hosted by the Republic of Indonesia Defense University (RIDU) on September 25-26, 2026.

Dr. Doralyn Dalisay

Prof. Dalisay delivered the plenary lecture titled, β€œUnlocking Marine Biodiversity: A Research-Driven Engine for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Global Health Resilience,” highlighting the research initiatives of the University of San Agustin and C2B2 in harnessing Philippine marine biodiversity and microbial resources for natural product discovery, pharmaceutical innovation, and global health resilience.

This engagement is especially meaningful as C2B2 and RIDU have an active Memorandum of Agreement that began in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The participation of C2B2 in ICOPMAP 2026 is a concrete accomplishment of this continuing partnership, reflecting the sustained commitment of both institutions to scientific exchange, research collaboration, and capacity-building.

Beyond the plenary lecture, the visit also provided an opportunity to learn from Indonesia’s model of integrating health sciences into national defense education, particularly through its programs in military medicine, military pharmacy, and the development of a defense-health workforce.

C2B2 remains committed to building meaningful international collaborations that advance research, innovation, and health resilience for the Philippines and the wider region.
